Collector Visits SETU Scheme Nursery in Chitrakonda as Preparation of Nearly Eight Lakh Jafra Saplings Progresses Across Three Nurseries

Malkangiri , June 12:  The District Collector of Malkangiri visited the Jafra nursery established under the ITDA’s “SETU” scheme at Naglur village in Chitrakonda and reviewed the plantation activities. Around 8 lakh Jafra saplings are being prepared in three nurseries in Chitrakonda.

To ensure proper marketing of products cultivated by farmers, the District Collector proposed the establishment of a “Jafra Mandi.” He also encouraged the Konda Rengi community to adopt Jafra cultivation as a sustainable livelihood source.

Additionally, the District Collector discussed issues related to drinking water, irrigation, and FRA (Forest Rights Act) land titles with the local residents.
