Cyclone Alert Prompts Leave Restrictions for Teachers from October 27 to 31 as Authorities Strengthen Disaster Preparedness Measures

Bhubaneswar, Oct 26 [UDN}: In view of the possibility of a cyclone and heavy rainfall, the District Education Officer (DEO) of Khordha district has issued instructions for all teachers and school staff to remain prepared for emergency situations.

As heavy rainfall is likely from October 26, all primary, upper primary, high schools and higher secondary schools have been directed to remain prepared to function as additional shelter centres if required.

All teachers and school employees must remain regularly available at their respective schools. No teacher will be permitted to take leave from October 27 to 31, according to the instructions issued by the district education authorities.

To ensure that schools remain accessible and available throughout this period, headmasters and principals have been instructed to prepare a roster-duty schedule for teachers and other staff members.

The DEO, Sonomika, has directed all Block Education Officers (BEOs) to inform the authorities of all government schools, government-aided schools, model schools and private educational institutions across the district about these instructions and ensure compliance.

The measures have been taken as part of the district administration’s preparedness for the possible cyclone and heavy rainfall, with schools expected to provide additional shelter facilities if necessary.
