Kotpad, Oct 27 [UDN}: All residents of the Kotpad area are hereby informed that, according to information from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a cyclone expected on October 27, 28 and 29, 2026, may bring heavy to extremely heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds across Koraput district.
In view of the anticipated severe weather conditions, all residents are requested to take necessary precautions to ensure their own safety and the protection of their family members. People are advised to remain safely inside their homes during this period and avoid unnecessary outdoor movement.
Families living in kutcha houses (temporary or non-permanent structures) are specifically urged to move to the shelters operated by the Kotpad civic authority and remain there until conditions improve.
Residents are also advised to take extra care of elderly family members, pregnant women and children, ensuring that their safety and essential needs receive priority during the adverse weather conditions.
