Devotion and Festivity Mark Annual Festival of Maa Khuleishuni at Asurali

Asurali, April 20: Odisha’s ancient and renowned Pala tradition is a unique blend of knowledge and devotion. Keeping this rich heritage alive and seeking the blessings of the presiding village deity, the annual festival of Maa Shukleswari at Asurali has been successfully आयोजित.
The sacred festival commenced last Tuesday. On the first day, rituals like Guabasa, Jal Yatra, Shata Chandi Path, and the concluding Purnahuti of the Homa Yajna were performed. The celebrations continued until April 17.
Arrangements were made for daily Prasad Sevan for devotees at 1 PM, creating a spirit of unity and brotherhood in the locality.
A major attraction of the festival was Odisha’s traditional Badi Pala. Pala is not just a form of entertainment but also a powerful medium that combines scholarship, literary expression, and Sanskrit verses to guide people towards spiritual values.
This year, two renowned Pala singers—Sourabh Prashant Behera from Dhenkanal and Barid Bhaskar Chandra Sahu from Athgarh—performed at the event. Through their melodious voices and expressive narration, they captivated the audience while showcasing the glory of the Goddess and the beauty of Odia literature.
The event was successfully managed by Aravinda Nayak, Narayan Chandra Sahu, Sharada Prasanna Sahu, Dr. Sadananda Das, Hunak Mallik, Sahadev Sahu, Ankur Kabi, Ashok Das, Arun Sahu, Shankarshan Mallik, Buddhiram Das, Prafulla Behera, Ananda Behera, and others.
