Nabarangpur, Aug 21 [UDN}:Nabarangpur District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain conducted surprise visits to various institutions in Nabarangpur Block to assess the quality of services, management systems and facilities available to the public at government educational institutions and healthcare centres.
The Collector visited Digaguda Primary School and reviewed the teaching and learning arrangements. He interacted directly with the students and enquired about their studies, academic progress and the facilities available at the school. He stressed the importance of quality and child-centric education to build a strong foundation for children at the primary level.
He also inspected the school’s mid-day meal kitchen and reviewed cleanliness, hygiene and food preparation practices. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that students are provided safe, nutritious and quality mid-day meals and that the kitchen and its surroundings are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition. During his interaction with teachers, he advised them to make greater efforts to improve the quality of teaching and ensure the overall development of students.
The Collector subsequently visited the Sanamosigaon Community Health Centre (CHC) and reviewed the status of patient care. He interacted with doctors, nurses and other healthcare personnel to understand the services being provided to patients, availability of essential facilities and the day-to-day functioning of the health centre. He also spoke directly with patients and sought their feedback on the treatment and other services they were receiving.
Dr. Swain inspected the CHC’s central medicine store and checked the availability and stock of essential medicines. To ensure that patients do not face shortages of necessary medicines, he advised the concerned officials to regularly monitor stock levels and arrange supplies in advance according to requirements.
The Collector then visited Sanamosigaon Government Upper Primary School. He interacted with students and sought their views on teaching and learning. He also inspected the cleanliness and hygiene arrangements in the mid-day meal kitchen.
During his interaction with teachers, the Collector emphasised quality education, improvement of students’ academic skills, regular attendance and development of school infrastructure. He advised teachers to work in a coordinated manner for the moral, social and creative development of students along with their academic growth.
Through these surprise visits, District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain made it clear that ensuring the quality and efficient functioning of basic services such as education and healthcare remains a top priority for the district administration. He stressed that all departmental officials and employees must work with dedication, accountability and coordination to ensure that the best possible government services reach the public and students.
