3rd July 2025: The District-Level Development Fair in Jeypore was celebrated with great enthusiasm to mark the completion of one year of the state government. Held at the Police Parade Ground, the week-long event featured vibrant cultural programs and exhibitions that attracted widespread public participation. The fair was inaugurated by Jeypore MLA Raghuram Mach, and on June 16, State Government Representative Mallick attended as the Chief Guest. The entire event was conducted under the direct supervision of District Collector V. Keerthi Vasan, ensuring smooth coordination and execution.
The celebration witnessed the presence of several dignitaries and public officials, including Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhattara, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sasmita Meleka, Odisha General Administration Department Secretary and Director of Grievance Redressal Nihar Ranjan Das, Koraput SP Rohit Verma, Additional District Collectors Tapan Kumar Nayak and Dwi Prasad Mahanti, Minister of Fisheries and Animal Resources Gokulananda, and representatives from various local bodies, including municipality chairpersons, BDOs, and executive officers. Their participation reflected the government’s commitment to transparent and inclusive development.
One of the key highlights of the fair was the exhibition set up by the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), featuring 70 stalls managed by self-help groups and farmer producer organizations. The exhibition generated a business turnover of ₹97 lakhs, providing a major boost to local entrepreneurship and rural livelihoods. Alongside this, the Subhadra Traditional Food Fair offered a rich display of regional delicacies, drawing large crowds and celebrating the district’s culinary heritage.
Coinciding with the popular Raja Festival of Odisha, the fair included traditional games, swings, and cultural performances, creating a festive atmosphere and adding to the public’s enjoyment. The Development Fair, held to commemorate a year of governance, emerged as a widely appreciated initiative that not only highlighted the achievements of the government but also fostered community participation and celebrated local culture.
