Election Machinery Swings into Action in Nabarangpur as Preparations Begin for the Forthcoming Panchayat Elections Across the District

Nabarangpur:  July 2 {UDN}:  The Odisha BJP government has begun preparations for the upcoming Panchayat elections by focusing on election machinery, documentation, and law-and-order arrangements. These developments indicate that the state is likely to conduct the Panchayat elections in the near future.

As part of the preparations, State Chief Electoral Officer R.S. Gopalan personally supervised the inspection of the election process.

During the inspection, officials examined the seals on the VVPAT warehouse, security arrangements, and the functioning of CCTV cameras. Representatives of recognized political parties were also present, and the entire inspection process was video-recorded to ensure transparency.

The Chief Electoral Officer also reviewed the district’s Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral rolls. It was informed that around 92% of the digitization work in the district has already been completed.

The programme was attended by representatives of various political parties, including Pramod Rath (Biju Janata Dal), Saroj Kumar Behera (Bharatiya Janata Party), Dr. Lipika Majhi and Pradeep Kumar Sahu (Indian National Congress), as well as former district president Muna Tripathy.

Senior district officials present included District Election Officer Dr. Maheswar Swain, Additional District Magistrate (General) Dr. Pramod Kumar Prusti, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Biswajit Chandra Barman, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Prakash Chandra, Sub-Collector Biranchi Narayan Mishra, Deputy Collector Chinmaya Kumar Sahu, and Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer Satya Narayan Pradhan, among others.
