Electoral Roll Revision Work Reviewed in Chitrakonda Block as Malkangiri Collector Inspects Progress and Directs Officials to Ensure Accurate Voter Records

Malkangiri, Aug 14 [UDN}:: In accordance with the directions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, the Special Summary Revision of the Electoral Roll is currently being carried out across the state. As part of the campaign, Malkangiri Collector-cum-District Election Officer Prathamesh Aravind Rajshirke visited Chitrakonda Block and conducted an important field-level review.
The review meeting focused on the progress of online document-uploading work being carried out by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Chitrakonda Block. As the hearing process for claims and objections submitted by voters has already been completed by the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, the Collector directed all BLOs to immediately upload all pending data, documents and forms related to the process on the digital portal.
The Collector made it clear that any negligence or delay in the preparation of the electoral roll would not be tolerated. Emphasising the quality and transparency of the work, he said that preparing a clean, complete and accurate electoral roll is a cornerstone of democracy. He directed officials to ensure that all information is uploaded promptly after completion of the hearing process.
All Booth Level Officers working at the field level were instructed to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe with 100 per cent accuracy, ensuring that no eligible voter is deprived of their right to vote.
A senior delegation from the district election administration was present during the review. The Chitrakonda Block Development Officer, Chitrakonda Tahasildar, Malkangiri District Education Officer and Assistant Collector (Election), among others, attended the meeting and presented updates on the progress of the work.
The primary objective of the Special Summary Revision campaign is to remove the names of deceased, shifted and duplicate voters from the electoral roll and include the names of all newly eligible citizens aged 18 years and above.
Overall, the review underlined the administration’s commitment to ensuring an accurate, transparent and updated electoral roll in Chitrakonda Block, so that every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right without difficulty.
