Ganjam, Oct 7 [UDN}: A capacity-building programme focused on promoting agricultural exports was organised at the Rishikulya Conference Hall in Chhatrapur, Ganjam, for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) and progressive farmers.
The “Export-Oriented Capacity Building Program” was organised by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, with the support of the Ganjam district administration and ORMAS.
The programme focused on key aspects of agricultural exports, including quality standards, export procedures, market linkages and opportunities available to farmers in international markets. Participants were provided with useful information on how agricultural products can be prepared and positioned to meet the requirements of global buyers.
The initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of FPOs, FPCs and progressive farmers while creating better opportunities for them to connect their products with national and international markets.
The programme was highlighted as a significant step towards making Ganjam’s agricultural sector more export-oriented and enabling local farmers to access wider markets and improve the commercial potential of their agricultural produce.
