Farmers Get More Time to Apply for Crop Insurance as Deadline Extended Until August 31, Free Insurance Benefit Available for Up to 5 Acres

Bhubaneswar,  Aug 22 [UDN}:In a major relief for farmers, the deadline for applying for crop insurance has been extended until August 31. The extension is expected to provide additional time for farmers who have not yet completed their crop insurance applications to enroll under the scheme and secure financial protection against potential crop losses.
Under the announced provision, farmers can avail themselves of free crop insurance coverage for agricultural land of up to 5 acres, offering significant support to small and marginal farmers. The crop insurance scheme is designed to provide financial assistance to farmers in the event of crop damage caused by adverse weather conditions, natural calamities, pests, diseases and other unforeseen circumstances.
Farmers who are eligible and have not yet submitted their applications are advised to complete the registration process before the revised August 31 deadline so that they can benefit from the insurance coverage. The extension is particularly important for farmers who may have missed the earlier deadline or faced difficulties in completing the application process.
The decision to extend the deadline and provide free insurance coverage for up to five acres is expected to strengthen the financial security of farmers and help reduce the economic burden caused by crop losses.
