Festive Mood May Face Weather Challenges in Odisha as Approaching Low-Pressure System Triggers Rainfall Forecast Across Several Districts

Bhubaneswar,  Oct 14 [UDN}:Rainfall may dampen the festive spirit in Odisha as a possible low-pressure system is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal and may move towards the state, raising concerns about changing weather conditions during the ongoing festive season. The anticipated weather system could bring rain to several parts of Odisha, potentially affecting Durga Puja celebrations, pandal visits, outdoor events and other festival-related activities.

With people preparing to participate in religious ceremonies, visit decorated puja pandals and enjoy various cultural programmes, the possibility of rain has become a concern for organisers, devotees and local authorities. If the system strengthens and moves closer to the Odisha coast, some areas could experience cloudy skies, intermittent rainfall and unsettled weather.

However, the actual impact will depend on the system’s formation, movement and intensity. People are advised to follow the latest forecasts and weather alerts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) before making plans for outdoor festivities.
