Bhubaneswar, Oct 14 [UDN}:The Odisha government has increased the upper age limit for recruitment to various government jobs from 32 years to 42 years, providing a significant opportunity for job aspirants who had crossed the earlier age limit.
The decision has reportedly received Cabinet approval under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Following the decision, necessary amendments will be made to the relevant recruitment rules.
The revised age limit is expected to benefit thousands of candidates, particularly those who had lost eligibility for government jobs after crossing the previous 32-year limit.
However, uniformed services such as the police and other posts requiring specific physical fitness standards will remain outside the scope of the general age-limit relaxation. Existing age relaxations applicable to reserved categories will continue as per the prevailing rules.
The move is expected to expand the pool of eligible candidates for various government recruitment examinations and provide additional opportunities to experienced and older job seekers.
