Five Odia Players Selected for Junior Hockey Tournament in Germany

Bhubaneswar, June 13: Hockey India has announced a 24-member Indian junior men’s team for the upcoming Four-Nation Hockey Tournament set to take place in Berlin, Germany, from June 21 to 25, 2025. Notably, five players from Odisha have secured their spots on the national squad.

The selected Odia players include Vivek Lakra (goalkeeper), Anmol Ekka, Roshan Kujur, Rohit Kullu, and Adrohita Ekka, showcasing the state’s continued contribution to Indian hockey.

The tournament will feature India, Germany (host), Australia, and Spain. After the round-robin league matches, the top two teams will contest the final, while the remaining teams will play for the third place.

This tournament is seen as a vital preparatory platform for the Junior Hockey World Cup, scheduled to be held in Chennai and Madurai from November 28 to December 10, 2025.

Arijit Singh Hundal has been appointed as the captain of the Indian side, while Amir Ali, also part of the squad, will serve as the vice-captain.
