Bhubaneswar, July 30 UDN}: The Odisha government has placed all concerned departments on high alert in view of the worsening flood situation across the state. As a precautionary measure, the leave of government officials and employees posted in flood-affected districts has been cancelled to ensure uninterrupted emergency response and relief operations.
According to official assessments, a moderate flood is expected in the Mahanadi River by this evening, prompting authorities to intensify preparedness. District administrations have been directed to remain vigilant, closely monitor river water levels, and keep rescue teams, emergency equipment, and relief materials ready for immediate deployment.
Residents living in low-lying and riverbank areas have been advised to stay alert, follow official advisories, and move to safer locations if instructed by the administration. Emergency services have also been asked to remain on standby to respond swiftly to any flood-related incidents. The state government continues to monitor the evolving situation round the clock to minimize the impact on lives and property.
