Four College Students Rescued After Getting Stranded at Odisha’s Chhatrang Dam

Bolangir, July 15 (UDN): A major accident was averted in Odisha’s Bolangir district after four college students were rescued safely after getting stranded on rocks while bathing at Chhatrang Dam under Bangomunda block.

The students became trapped on the rocks, following which a joint rescue operation was launched by teams from the police department, Fire Services, and the Forest Department. The coordinated effort helped evacuate all four students safely from the site.

Officials said the rescue operation was carried out swiftly to prevent any further danger. While all the students were brought to safety, two of them were reported to be in critical condition and were provided medical attention.

The incident highlights the risks associated with entering water bodies, especially during recreational activities near dams and reservoirs. Authorities have urged visitors to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines while visiting such locations.

The successful rescue operation by the emergency response teams prevented a possible tragedy and ensured the safe evacuation of the stranded students.
