Jharigaon:June 16: A friendship meet was organized on Wednesday by the Nabarangpur District Journalists Welfare Trust at the Chandan Dhara tourist destination, located under Bada Temara Panchayat in Jharigaon Block of Nabarangpur district.
The event was held under the chairmanship of Sabyasachi Bharatiya, President of the Jharigaon Block unit. The chief guest was Mrs. Yamuna Muduli, Sarpanch of Bada Temara Panchayat. Other distinguished guests included Rajanikant Pattnaik, President of the Chandan Dhara Shaiva Peetha; Pratap Duria, President of the Jharigaon Block unit of the Nabarangpur District Indigenous Scheduled Tribe Association; the Deputy Sarpanch of Bada Temara Panchayat; social worker Debisingh Muduli; Himanshu Sekhar Bag, Founder of the Nabarangpur District Journalists Welfare Trust; Shekhar Khura, President of the organization; General Secretary Ashok Sahu; and Laxmi Takri, among others.
The program began with worship of Lord Chandaneswar followed by the singing of the National Anthem. After President Shekhar Khura introduced the guests, members of the organization welcomed them with ceremonial scarves and bouquets.
Senior office-bearers of the Trust explained the purpose behind the formation of the organization and its core objectives. They also highlighted the fundamental issues and challenges faced by journalists.
In their speeches, the guests emphasized the role and responsibilities of journalists in society and discussed the importance of maintaining healthy relationships among journalists, the public, elected representatives, and the administration.
On the occasion, two social workers—Rajanikant Pattnaik and Sebak Garada of the Nabarangpur region—were honored and presented with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their selfless service to society.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks.
