Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 [UDN}:Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has urged all government and private universities in the state to adopt a village in their respective areas as an “Adopted Village” and work towards its overall development.
The Governor emphasized that universities should identify the skills, talents, and potential of the villagers, provide them with need-based training, and create suitable employment and livelihood opportunities so that local communities can become economically self-reliant.
He made these remarks while addressing a one-day experience-sharing programme of Vice-Chancellors, organized at a private university. During the programme, the Governor highlighted the important role that higher educational institutions can play in strengthening rural communities and promoting inclusive development through active engagement with villages.
