Rasulpur, Aug 21 [UDN}: The Rasulpur Block Animal Resources Development Department distributed 300 quintals of cattle feed on Wednesday under the second phase of relief measures for cattle affected by the floods.
In the first phase, 460 quintals of cattle feed were distributed for three days among 1,400 flood-affected cattle in the Bandhadiha, Baladalapur and Prathamakhsi gram panchayats.
Under the second phase, feed was provided for two days at the rate of 1 kg per adult cattle per day and 250 grams per calf per day.
The programme was conducted under the direct supervision of BDO Satyananda Dash. According to Dr. Ranjan Kumar Sethi, Block Veterinary Officer, cattle feed was distributed to the owners at the respective panchayat offices based on the number of cattle registered with each beneficiary.
Veterinary Surgeons (VS) Sandeep Kumar Barik, LI Bijay Kumar Sahu, Bibhuti Bhushan Tripathy, Prarath Jena and Sushant Kabi, along with the Gomitra workers, assisted in managing and carrying out the cattle-feed distribution programme.
