Growing Demand for AIIMS in Sambalpur Gains Momentum as Massive Rally Takes to the Streets and Memorandum Is Submitted to RDC

Sambalpur: Sept 7 [UDN}:A massive public rally and demonstration were organised by the Koshal Sena demanding the establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Sambalpur to strengthen and improve healthcare facilities across Western Odisha.

Hundreds of members of the organisation, along with local residents, participated in the rally carrying the National Flag, banners and placards. The procession began from Dhukrapada and marched towards the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC). The city echoed with slogans demanding the establishment of an AIIMS hospital in Sambalpur.

Major Demands Raised

Establishment of AIIMS: The organisation demanded that the Central and State Governments provide official approval and make necessary budgetary provisions for the immediate establishment of AIIMS in Sambalpur.

Advanced Treatment for Serious Diseases: The protesters highlighted the urgent need for advanced medical treatment and research facilities for serious illnesses, particularly cancer, kidney-related diseases and respiratory disorders, which would benefit the people of Western Odisha.

Submission of Memorandum: At the conclusion of the rally, a delegation of the Koshal Sena submitted a memorandum through the RDC, addressed to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, outlining their demand for an AIIMS in Sambalpur.
