Bhubaneswar, Aug 8 [UDN}:Odisha’s Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Information Technology, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, reached Dhamnagar and visited the flood-affected areas to take stock of the situation. After the field visit, he chaired a review meeting at the Dhamnagar Community Health Centre (CHC).
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized ensuring public health safety in the aftermath of the floods, maintaining the quality of drinking water, and strengthening measures to control infectious diseases. He advised the Health Department to remain alert and take preventive steps against water-borne diseases such as diarrhoea, jaundice, and other infections that may increase after floods.
Dr. Mahaling directed the district administration to ensure regular health camps in affected areas, supply safe and clean drinking water, and maintain adequate availability of medicines and essential healthcare services for the affected population.
The meeting was attended by the Bhadrak District Collector, Sub-Collector, Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer (CDM&PHO), and other senior officials. The Minister reviewed the preparedness and response measures being taken to protect the health of people affected by the flood situation.
