Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling Visits All India Institute of Ayurveda, Discusses Future Healthcare Plans

Delhi, May 17: Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling visited the All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi to review ongoing initiatives and explore future opportunities in Ayurveda education, research, and healthcare services.

During the visit, Mahaling held discussions with senior officials of the institute on strengthening traditional healthcare systems and expanding the reach of Ayurvedic treatment facilities across the country. He also reviewed several programmes being undertaken to promote research and quality healthcare through Ayurveda.

Expressing keen interest in traditional treatment methods, the minister said he gained insights into Leech Therapy, an Ayurvedic therapeutic procedure being used for the treatment of several ailments. He noted that such indigenous healing systems have significant potential in improving healthcare delivery and promoting holistic wellness.

Mahaling highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasized the importance of India’s traditional systems of medicine in building a healthier and stronger nation. 

He further stated that improved infrastructure, adequate financial support, and skilled human resources are being strengthened to boost Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine, contributing to both public health and the wider promotion of India’s indigenous medical heritage.
