High-Level Preparatory Meeting Conducted in Malkangiri Ahead of 80th District-Level Independence Day Celebration to Ensure Smooth Programme Management

Malkangiri, Aug 7 [UDN}:: A crucial preparatory meeting was held in the District Council Conference Hall of Malkangiri for the successful organisation of the 80th District-Level Independence Day celebration. The meeting, organised as per the direction of District Collector Prathamesh Arvind Rajshirke, was attended by senior district officials who held detailed discussions on ensuring that the upcoming Independence Day celebration is conducted in a disciplined, grand and dignified manner.
Additional District Collector (Revenue) Bedabar Pradhan, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Dasharathi Sarabu, Sub-Collector Duryadhan Bhoi and Additional Superintendent of Police R.K. Das were present on the dais during the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi presented the outline of this year’s Independence Day programme and invited suggestions from the members present.
As per the decisions taken in the meeting, a musical Ramdhun programme will be organised in the town by the District Information and Public Relations Department on the morning of Independence Day. National flags will be hoisted at all government and private institutions across the district between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM.
The main district-level celebration will be held at the local D.N.K. Playground, where the chief guest will unfurl the national flag and receive the salute from the combined parade. Various competitions will also be organised among school and college students. Arrangements have been made to specially felicitate meritorious students who have secured top positions in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations in the district.
The meeting also directed officials to organise programmes on important August observances such as Quit India Movement Day and World Tribal Day. Instructions were issued to all blocks and gram panchayats of the district to conduct wreath-laying ceremonies at the statues of great personalities and freedom fighters.
The administration urged all concerned departments to complete their assigned responsibilities on time to make the 80th Independence Day celebration grand, comprehensive and successful.
District-level officials, police department personnel and members of various voluntary organisations attended the meeting.
The meeting was coordinated with the support of employees of the District Information and Public Relations Department, Harekrushna Kirtania and Ranjan Mohanty.
