Bhubaneswar, Sept 9 [UDN}:The graduation ceremony of the 13th batch of Cadet Sub-Inspectors was held at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, marking an important milestone in the careers of 336 newly appointed Sub-Inspectors, who formally joined the police service.
The Chief Minister expressed his happiness over the significant participation of women in the batch, with 70 women Sub-Inspectors being inducted into the police force. He described their inclusion as a bright reflection of women’s empowerment in Odisha and the changing social landscape of the state.
Addressing the graduating cadets at the convocation ceremony, the Chief Minister said that the occasion was not merely a formal parade, but a celebration of dedication, discipline, sacrifice and excellence. He emphasized that the police uniform is not just an article of clothing; rather, it carries with it the authority granted by the Constitution and the enormous responsibility of serving society.
He advised the newly inducted officers to make proper and responsible use of the authority entrusted to them by virtue of their uniform. Every police officer, he said, must ensure that the weaker and vulnerable sections of society receive justice and protection.
The Chief Minister further emphasized that police officers have a vital role in maintaining law and order, protecting citizens and upholding the principles of justice. He urged the newly appointed Sub-Inspectors to discharge their duties with integrity, sensitivity, discipline and a strong sense of public service, while always remembering the trust that society places in the police force.
