IAS Somesh Kumar Upadhyay Wins Public Appreciation for His Humble Approach While Reviewing Flood Conditions Across Bhadrak District

Bhadrak: Aug 8 [UDN}:Newly appointed Bhadrak District Collector IAS Somesh Kumar Upadhyay inspected flood-affected areas across several panchayats of Chandbali and Tihidi blocks to assess the ground situation and understand the difficulties faced by people.
During his visit, the Collector’s simple and down-to-earth approach drew widespread appreciation. Instead of moving around in a formal manner, he walked through the flooded areas with his trousers folded up and barefoot, just like an ordinary villager. He interacted closely with affected residents, listened patiently to their problems, and assured them of necessary support and assistance.
While district collectors are usually seen in official attire and accompanied by staff, IAS Somesh Kumar Upadhyay’s humble gesture of stepping into the floodwaters and meeting people at their level created a special impression among the public. His approach reflected empathy, accessibility, and a strong connection with the people during a difficult time.
