Bhubaneswar, Aug 8 [UDN}: The southwest monsoon has become active over Odisha, with rainfall activity expected to continue across the state for the next 48 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the state.
According to the weather department, widespread rainfall is likely during the next 24 hours, with many districts expected to receive significant showers. The IMD has issued an Orange Warning for Mayurbhanj district, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in the region.
Authorities have advised people to remain alert, especially in vulnerable areas, as continuous heavy rainfall may lead to waterlogging, rising water levels in rivers and possible disruption in normal life. District administrations have been asked to monitor the situation closely and take necessary precautionary measures.
