Bhubaneswar, June 17: Odisha is set to witness a significant industrial and infrastructure expansion with the announcement of major projects worth over ₹25,700 crore, to be unveiled during a state-level programme on June 20 at Rairangpur.

The initiative will be jointly unveiled by the Hon’ble President of India Droupadi Murmu and the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking two years of the BJP government in the state.
A key highlight of the announcements is India’s first commercial coal gasification project, proposed at Jharsuguda with an estimated investment of around ₹25,000 crore. The project is expected to significantly boost industrial development, energy innovation, and employment generation in the region.
Officials stated that the proposed projects will cover key sectors of infrastructure and industrial development, further strengthening Odisha’s position as an emerging investment hub in eastern India.
The upcoming programme is expected to mark a major milestone in the state’s development trajectory, with a focus on large-scale investment, job creation, and long-term economic growth.
