Sriharikota, 29th January 2025 – Today, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved a remarkable milestone by launching its 100th mission. From its Sriharikota spaceport, ISRO successfully sent the GSLV-F15 rocket carrying the NVS-02 satellite into space, marking a significant achievement in India’s space exploration journey.
The NVS-02 satellite, part of ISRO’s Satellite Navigation System (SNS), is set to improve India’s GPS-like services, enhancing navigation across the country. The satellite will cover a wide area from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, and from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh, improving not only road travel but also air and sea navigation.
Following the successful launch, ISRO has further solidified its position in global space technology. Union Minister for Space, Jitendra Singh, congratulated the team, acknowledging the contributions of ISRO pioneers like Vikram Sarabhai and Satish Dhawan, and highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role in strengthening the nation’s space ambitions.
