Jagannath Temple Conservation Gets Major Boost as ASI Plans Sanctum Inspection During Rath Yatra and Focuses on Bhog Mandap Repairs

Puri, July 5 {UDN}:  During the Rath Yatra, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will carry out a detailed inspection of the sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Griha) of the Jagannath Temple. 

The conservation agency has also decided to prioritize repair and restoration work on the Bhog Mandap to ensure the temple’s structural safety and preservation. The inspection is part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the centuries-old heritage monument while maintaining its religious significance. Experts will assess the condition of key structures and recommend necessary conservation measures to protect the temple for future generations.
