Bhubaneswar, July 2: The Odisha government has scheduled a joint technical inspection of Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri, on July 18, 2026, as part of its routine annual assessment ahead of the Rath Yatra.
According to the Works Department, the inspection will be carried out jointly by the Technical Committee of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and officials from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Puri Circle. The inspection will begin at 10:30 AM.
Following the site inspection, a review meeting will be held at the SJTA Conference Hall / PWD Inspection Bungalow, Nirman Niwas, Puri, where officials will discuss findings and decide on necessary follow-up actions.
The ASI has been requested to make necessary arrangements to facilitate inspection inside key areas of the temple, including the Garvagriha, Jagamohana, and Natamandapa.
Officials stated that the exercise is a routine annual process conducted before the Rath Yatra to assess the structural condition and ensure the safety and maintenance of the temple.
The Works Department has issued formal communication to all concerned authorities to ensure smooth coordination during the inspection process.
