20th May 2025: Jharsuguda, a key industrial hub of Odisha, is setting its sights on becoming India’s top-performing district. During a recent visit, G20 Sherpa and former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant reviewed the district’s development plans with local officials, including MLA Tankadhar Tripathy and Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane.

Emphasizing the district’s industrial potential, Kant called for setting up a dedicated skill training institute to bridge the gap between local talent and industrial demand. He also reviewed ongoing projects in health, education, sports, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.

Key focus areas included resolving the fly ash issue, expanding green cover, and fast-tracking highway and rail projects. Kant suggested creating a CSR action plan and holding job fairs to boost employment.

A roadmap is being prepared to align Jharsuguda’s growth with Odisha’s centenary in 2036. With expert guidance and strong leadership, the district is on track to become a national model of balanced and inclusive development.
