Jharsuguda: Aug 29 [UDN}:A district-level Executive Committee meeting of the Jharsuguda District School Sports Association, organized under the aegis of the District Education Department, was held in the conference hall of the District Education Office.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Radhakanta Gartia, President of the Jharsuguda School Sports Association and District Education Officer. Among those present were Additional District Education Officer Rabindra Majhi, District Physical Education Officer Sushant Behera, District Science Supervisor Niroj Patel, retired Block Education Officer Anil Kumar Patel, Kirmira Block Education Officer Jayanarayan Panda, Laikera Block Education Officer Himanshu Bag, Kolabira Block Education Officer Prakash Sahu, Headmistress of Government High School, Jharsuguda, Tanmayee Subhashree Ping, Headmaster of PM SHRI GL High School, Belpahar, Sachindra Patel, along with all the block-level sports secretaries.
At the beginning of the meeting, District Physical Education Officer Sushant Behera presented a report on the activities and achievements of the previous year. He also placed before the committee the annual action plan for organizing zonal, block-level and district-level sports competitions smoothly during the current academic year.
The proposed action plan was unanimously approved by all members of the Executive Committee, following which the President and District Education Officer, Dr. Gartia, formally gave his approval to the programme.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Gartia emphasized the need to provide students of the district with better opportunities to develop their sporting abilities. He called upon all concerned to work collectively so that students can perform at a high level and showcase their talent not only at the state level but also at the national level.
He further assured that the District School Sports Association would extend all necessary cooperation, facilities and support required for the development of sports and for the successful participation of students in various competitions.
The meeting concluded with Aniruddha Pradhan, Secretary of Lakhanpur Block, conducting the proceedings and delivering the vote of thanks to all the participants.
In essence, the meeting focused on strengthening school-level sports in Jharsuguda, finalizing the annual sports action plan, and creating better opportunities for young athletes to compete and excel at higher levels.
