Former MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi Continues to Demonstrate Humanity, Empathy and Commitment to Public Welfare

Nabarangpur,Aug 29 [UDN}: Politics is not merely about elections, victories, defeats, or holding positions of power. It is, above all, a means of serving the people. This has been demonstrated by former Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi, whose humanitarian approach and close bond with the common people have continued even after electoral setbacks.

Despite winning and losing elections, Majhi has never allowed his personal relationship and emotional connection with the people to weaken. Even today, rather than behaving simply as a politician, he continues to remain connected with the people as a son of the soil, an elder of the family, a brother, or a close relative, participating wholeheartedly in their joys and sorrows.

His presence can be seen at various occasions in villages, ranging from auspicious ceremonies to funeral-related rituals, marriages, Brata ceremonies and Ekoshia observances. He reportedly participates in such programmes not with any political motive or vested interest, but purely out of affection, respect and a sense of personal responsibility towards the people.

His simple and unassuming personality, along with his genuine concern for ordinary citizens, has earned him considerable appreciation among the people of the region. Locals say that, at a time when political leaders are often viewed primarily through the lens of elections and political interests, a leader who remains so closely connected with people at the grassroots level is increasingly rare.

Majhi’s continued presence among villagers during both moments of celebration and times of grief is being seen as an example of people-oriented public life. His conduct, according to local residents, reflects the idea that a politician’s relationship with the people should not end after an election. Instead, genuine public service should continue irrespective of political success or failure.
