Nabarangpur, Aug 8 [UDN}: A Joint Public Grievance Hearing Camp was organized at the District Council Conference Hall in Nabarangpur under the joint chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain and Superintendent of Police Kashyap Partha Jagadish. The camp provided an important platform for citizens to directly present their grievances and seek solutions from the district administration.
The programme was attended by Additional District Magistrate (General) Dr. Pramod Kumar Prusty, Divisional Forest Officer Udayan Subuddhi, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and Zilla Parishad Executive Officer Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, BDO Sunil Khara, along with other district-level officials. The officials listened to the problems and demands raised by the people and assured necessary action.
A total of 55 grievances were received during the hearing, including 38 individual complaints and 17 community-related issues, mostly concerning rural development and public welfare. Out of the received complaints, one issue was resolved immediately at the spot, while financial assistance from the Red Cross was approved for one applicant.
On the occasion, District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain felicitated and encouraged various government offices that had shown remarkable performance in the online management of official files through the OSWAS (Odisha Secretariat Workflow Automation System) platform.
It was highlighted that Nabarangpur district secured the first position across Odisha in July by managing the highest number of government files digitally through OSWAS, marking a significant achievement towards improving transparency, efficiency, and timely delivery of government services.
During July, the District Collector’s Office successfully managed 6,906 files online through the OSWAS system. Among various departments, the Health Department handled 877 files, the Education Department managed 765 files, and the Zilla Parishad managed 629 files online.
Among all blocks, Nabarangpur Block topped with 413 files, while among tehsils, Nandahandi Tehsil managed the highest number with 434 files. In the municipal category, Nabarangpur Municipality led by managing 1,012 files online.
The District Collector presented appreciation certificates to the concerned officials for their outstanding contribution and urged all other departments and offices to adopt similar digital practices and increase online file management to ensure faster and more efficient public service delivery.
