Loisingha, July 22 UDN}:Tree plantation is the best means of providing future generations with a clean, pollution-free, and healthy environment. It is also an important effort toward environmental protection and increasing greenery.
On the occasion of the 77th Van Mahotsav Week, Health, Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs, and Electronics & Information Technology Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling attended the inauguration ceremony of the MLA Forest at Karkachia under the Loisingha Forest Range today and made these remarks.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Balangir District Forest Officer Ajit Bisi. As the chief guest, Dr. Mahaling spoke about the objectives and significance of the MLA Forest programme. He said that, apart from promoting environmental protection and greenery, medicinal plants would also be available in the forest. He also advised people to contribute toward building a plastic-free India.
Among others, ACF Manas Ranjan Behera and Loisingha Ranger Gobind Chandra Bisi were present on the dais.
The MLA Forest has been developed over 6.4 hectares of land, where around 6,000 or more forest species and medicinal plants have been planted.
Arjun Sahu, an official from the office of the District Forest Officer, coordinated the meeting, while ACF Behera delivered the vote of thanks. Loisingha Forester Babulal Das conducted the programme, with the cooperation of all Forest Department employees.
