Kotpad,Nov 28: The NAC-level Adivasi folk festival ‘Parab’, organised by the Kotpad Notified Area Council, has been inaugurated. The festival was formally opened by Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra as the chief guest, under the chairmanship of NAC Chairperson M. Shankar Rao.
On this occasion, a grand procession started from the NAC office and proceeded to offer prayers at the shrines of Kotpad’s presiding deities — Maa Mauli and Shitala Thakurani. Later, the torch-lit procession marched through different parts of Kotpad and reached Bhairav Padia, where the festival flag was hoisted, marking the official commencement of ‘Parab’.
Among those present were Vice-Chairperson M. Santoshi, all councillors, Swachh Sathis, students of various schools, teachers, staff of the Kotpad NAC, and members of different organisations, all of whom extended full cooperation. NAC Officer Kamalesh Mohant conducted the proceedings.
According to information received, the concluding celebration of the NAC-level Parab festival will be held on the 28th at the Old Tahasil Grounds.
