Umerkote ,Sept 4 [UDN}: A legal awareness camp was organized at the premises of Penduni College, Umerkote, with discussions focusing on important legal issues concerning children, women, and sexual harassment of working women.
The programme was organized under the direction of the college principal, Dr. Anil Mishra, and under the direct supervision of coordinator and lecturer Surabhi Dash.
Senior advocate Srinivas Patnaik attended the camp as the chief guest and spoke about several important laws, including the POCSO Act, 2012, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and the Anti-Ragging Act. He sensitized students, teaching staff, and college employees about their legal rights, responsibilities, and protections.
Vice Principal Ram Shankar Patnaik conducted the programme, while lecturer Dr. Pradosh Arpan Patnaik delivered the vote of thanks.
Dr. G. Dharmendra, Sameer Mohanty, Adu Krishani, Ashok Kujur, Ranjita Rath, Dipti Dash, Bhagyashree Samal, Baishali Biso and others were present and contributed to the success of the programme.
