According to the IMD’s observation at 5:30 am on Friday, the weather system has developed under the influence of a cyclonic circulation and is expected to remain over the same region initially.

The system is likely to concentrate into a depression by October 24, marking a possible step towards further intensification over the Bay of Bengal.

System May Move Towards Odisha-Andhra Coast

The IMD has indicated that the system may move west-northwestwards over the subsequent two days, bringing it closer to the north Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha coast.

Favourable atmospheric conditions could lead to further strengthening, with the system potentially developing into a cyclonic storm by October 26.

However, the system’s eventual intensity, movement and likely impact will depend on its development over the coming days. The forecast remains subject to revision as fresh meteorological observations become available.

IMD Keeps Close Watch on Weather System

The weather department is continuously monitoring the evolving system and is expected to issue further updates as its movement and intensity become clearer.

The formation has drawn attention to the possibility of unsettled weather along parts of the eastern coast, particularly Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, if the system continues to intensify and approaches the coastline.

Residents, fishermen and coastal communities are advised to follow official IMD bulletins and local administration advisories for the latest information.

Cyclone Development Remains Under Observation

While the possibility of cyclonic intensification by October 26 has been indicated, the development of a cyclone is not yet confirmed. The coming 48 to 72 hours will be important in determining the system’s strength, direction and potential impact on the eastern coast.

Authorities are expected to assess the situation based on subsequent forecasts before issuing any specific precautionary measures.
