Bhubaneswar,May 26: Suresh Pujari inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various developmental projects worth more than ₹26 crore in the Brajrajnagar municipal area.
While the foundation stones for 82 new projects worth ₹23.48 crore were laid, 12 completed projects constructed at a cost of ₹2.77 crore were inaugurated and dedicated to the public.
On this occasion, Jharsuguda District Collector Kunal Motiram Chanda, Zilla Parishad CEO Bishwa Ranjan Nayak, acting Municipal Chairperson Krishna Gopal Sitani, and Executive Officer Chandramani Swain were present.
Minister Suresh Pujari stated that the all-round development of Brajrajnagar is one of the government’s primary goals. He said that projects such as the new market complex, Safi Complex, library, and Kalyan Mandap would strengthen the local economy and create employment opportunities for the youth. He also announced the construction of a modern shelter facility for vehicle drivers along the national highway.
Among the inaugurated projects were a drama pendal at Goal Chowk, a yoga platform at Eco Park, preservation of the martyrs’ memorial, renovation of Madhusudan Chowk, and construction of school buildings.
Major projects for which foundation stones were laid include:
A modern non-vegetarian market near GM Complex at a cost of ₹3.6 crore
A separate library near the Women’s College at a cost of ₹3.42 crore
A Kalyan Mandap at Lamtibahal costing ₹2.1 crore
Construction of the Safi Complex near Tunnel Road at an estimated cost of around ₹2 crore
Special emphasis has also been given to the development of the Telenpali area, where projects such as shed construction, a Kalyan Mandap, development of Sahupada ground, and restoration of ponds have been launched.
Additionally, several new development proposals have been planned by the Brajrajnagar Municipality for the upcoming financial year.
