Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 [UDN}:A major decision has been taken regarding the development and expansion of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. According to the decision, the ongoing construction and development work at the premier medical institution is expected to be completed by June next year. As part of the planned expansion, the campus will accommodate four new clinical blocks, which are expected to significantly strengthen the institution’s medical infrastructure and service capacity.
The development is aimed at creating additional facilities for clinical services, improving the overall healthcare infrastructure, and providing better treatment and diagnostic facilities to patients. The four clinical blocks will provide dedicated space for various clinical departments and are expected to help streamline patient care, reduce pressure on existing facilities, and improve the working environment for doctors, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
The project is being viewed as an important step towards strengthening SCB Medical College as one of Odisha’s major centres for advanced medical education, specialised healthcare, and patient treatment. Once the construction and associated works are completed, the additional infrastructure is expected to enhance the hospital’s capacity to handle the growing number of patients visiting the institution from different parts of Odisha and neighbouring regions.
The authorities have set June next year as the target for completion of the work, indicating a clear timeline for bringing the new facilities into operation. The addition of four clinical blocks is expected to play a significant role in modernising the existing infrastructure and expanding the range and capacity of clinical services available at SCB Medical College.
The decision is therefore being considered a significant development for SCB Medical College, with the upcoming infrastructure expected to contribute to improved healthcare delivery, better patient management, and the further strengthening of Odisha’s public healthcare system.
