Koraput, June 20: {UDN}: With financial assistance provided by the District Collector of Koraput, a successful cattle vaccination programme against Anthrax was conducted through the joint collaboration of the team from ICMR–NIHR, Bhubaneswar and the District Headquarters Veterinary Hospital, Koraput.
The initiative was undertaken as part of ongoing efforts to protect livestock health and prevent the spread of Anthrax, a serious infectious disease that can affect cattle and other animals. The programme brought together veterinary experts, researchers, and field personnel who worked in coordination to ensure the smooth implementation of the vaccination drive.
Under this campaign, cows and other cattle were vaccinated in a systematic manner to enhance their immunity and safeguard them against potential outbreaks of the disease. The active involvement of the ICMR–NIHR Bhubaneswar team provided valuable technical guidance and scientific support, while the District Headquarters Veterinary Hospital, Koraput, played a crucial role in organizing and executing the field-level operations.
The successful completion of the vaccination programme reflects the commitment of the district administration and animal husbandry authorities towards improving animal health, strengthening disease prevention measures, and protecting the livelihoods of livestock-dependent farmers.
