Major Push for Green Mobility as Odisha Government Mandates Use of Electric Vehicles in Rented Official Cars

Bhubaneswar, May 23:  The Chief Minister has directed the administration to reduce petrol and diesel expenses. Accordingly, from June 1, it will be mandatory for government offices to use electric vehicles (EVs) for four-wheelers taken on rent.

Electric buses or minibuses will be provided for transporting employees to and from places where a large number of government staff reside.

All offices will take well-planned steps to ensure that monthly consumption of petrol and diesel for government vehicle operations is reduced by at least 10 percent.
