Massive Turnout in Nabarangpur as 4,672 Aspirants Appear for 90 Home Guard Vacancies

Nabarangpur, April 24:  As many as 4,672 candidates appeared for the written examination for 90 vacant Home Guard posts across various police stations in Nabarangpur district.
A total of 5,467 applications were received for these posts, out of which 794 candidates were rejected due to various reasons. With over 4,500 candidates, the examination was conducted at the Police Reserve Ground instead of multiple centers.
Among the candidates, 10 were postgraduates, 11 MA holders, 4 B.Ed degree holders, 11 B.Tech graduates, 1,109 graduates, and 37 diploma/ITI holders. Additionally, 1,555 matric and 1,585 +2 qualified candidates appeared for the exam.
Due to the open-ground arrangement and rising heat, the exam was completed early in the morning by 9 AM. The examination was conducted under the direct supervision of SP Sandeep Sampat Madkar, with extensive arrangements in place.
Strict security measures were implemented, including deployment of two platoons of police force and CCTV surveillance. Facilities such as drinking water, ORS, ambulance services, and medical staff were also arranged to manage the heat conditions.
The highest number of vacancies—30 posts—were in Nabarangpur Police Station, which received over 1,100 applications, according to Station Officer Sambit Kumar Behera.
