Mayurbhanj, Sept 21 [UDN}: During her visit to Mayurbhanj district, Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) Chairperson Babita Patra visited the Chhatua preparation centre at Ichinda, operated by the Maa Laxmi Women’s Self-Help Group (SHG).
During the inspection, Patra reviewed the chhatua preparation process, hygiene and cleanliness standards, and the quality of food products being prepared at the centre. She stressed that the nutritional food supplied to children must meet the highest quality standards and directed those responsible to ensure strict compliance.
She also emphasised that children’s health, well-being and nutrition must remain a top priority. She advised the SHG and concerned officials to maintain proper hygiene and quality control at every stage, from the procurement and preparation of ingredients to packaging, storage and distribution.
The visit focused on ensuring that food supplied to children through nutrition programmes is safe, hygienic, nutritious and of consistently high quality.
