Bhubaneswar, Sept 23 [UDN}:The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly begins today, September 22, with the Seventh Session of the 17th Odisha Assembly scheduled to continue until October 3. According to the Assembly’s official calendar, the session will have nine working days.
Ahead of the session, the BJP Legislature Party held a meeting on Monday to discuss its strategy and legislative business for the upcoming proceedings. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with ministers and BJP legislators, attended the meeting.
The ruling party’s meeting came a day before the House convened, as both the government and opposition prepared to raise various issues during the session. An all-party meeting chaired by Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy was also held on Monday, where Chief Minister Majhi appealed to all political parties to cooperate in ensuring smooth proceedings and constructive debate.
The session is expected to witness discussions on several issues concerning Odisha, with the opposition indicating that matters including the MMDR Amendment Bill and textbook-related issues are likely to feature prominently.
