Nabarangpur Hosts Closing Ceremony of ‘Bikashara Dhara, Odisha Sara’; Government Schemes Reach Eligible Beneficiaries

Nabarangpur, June 24 {UDN}:   The district-level closing ceremony of the state-wide program “Bikashara Dhara, Odisha Sara” (The Stream of Development Across Odisha), organized to mark the completion of two years of the Odisha Government, was held today with great enthusiasm and public participation at the Nabarangpur Police Ground.
The event was inaugurated by Gouri Shankar Majhi, Honorable MLA of Nabarangpur and Chairman of the District Planning Board, who attended as the Chief Guest. He formally commenced the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several district-level officials and dignitaries, including Nabarangpur Block Development Officer (BDO) Sunil Khara, Kosagumuda BDO Ashish Tripathy, Tentulikhunti BDO Manoj Panigrahi, District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Behera, Agriculture Officer Jogamayi Pattnaik, Veterinary Officer Smitashree Pattnaik, Additional Fisheries Officer S. Bhavani Reddy, MLA’s representative Debadas Mahankud, along with departmental officials, public representatives, school students, beneficiaries, and members of the general public.
A major highlight of the event was the distribution of government assistance and work orders under various welfare schemes. The Chief Guest handed over benefits and official sanction orders to a total of 295 beneficiaries from different sectors.
Under the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, 50 beneficiaries received Swamitva Property Cards, providing them with legal ownership documentation for their properties.
Under the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, 68 beneficiaries were issued housing construction work orders, enabling them to build their own homes under government-supported housing schemes.
The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department extended support to 53 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Annapurna Scheme, ensuring food security and welfare assistance.
Under the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, 91 beneficiaries received approval for the new Madhubabu Pension Scheme, strengthening social protection for elderly, vulnerable, and disadvantaged citizens.
The Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department provided assistance to one beneficiary, while another beneficiary was granted support specifically for Biofloc Fish Farming, a modern and sustainable aquaculture technique aimed at enhancing fish production and livelihood opportunities.
In addition, the Women and Child Development Department distributed smart mobile phones to 30 Anganwadi workers. These devices are expected to significantly improve digital record-keeping, monitoring, and service delivery at the grassroots level.
During the ceremony, special recognition was accorded to Eklavya Model Residential School, Hirli, which secured second place at the national-level Gram Sabha competition. Chief Guest Gouri Shankar Majhi honored the institution with a bouquet and a certificate of appreciation. He stated that the entire district was proud of this remarkable achievement and congratulated the school community for bringing recognition to Nabarangpur at the national level.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest said:
“Under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, the pace of development in Nabarangpur district has increased remarkably. The distribution of more than 295 benefits today is a clear example of our government’s commitment to public welfare. Our objective is to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits of government schemes directly and efficiently. The vision of ‘Bikashara Dhara, Odisha Sara’ has now become a reality in Nabarangpur.”
He further stated that several major projects in the fields of education, healthcare, agriculture, and employment generation would be launched in the district in the coming years, accelerating socio-economic development.
Block Agriculture Officer Lopamudra Sahu also addressed the gathering. She explained the government’s emphasis on organic and natural farming practices and shared valuable information with farmers regarding sustainable agricultural methods and the benefits of adopting eco-friendly cultivation techniques.
The closing ceremony was enriched by vibrant cultural performances presented by local artists. Traditional dances and tribal folk songs captivated the audience and added a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
The program was coordinated by G.V.V. Ranjita, who successfully managed the proceedings and ensured smooth conduct of the event.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Nabarangpur BDO Sunil Khara delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all officials, employees, media representatives, beneficiaries, and members of the public for their active participation and cooperation in making the event a success.
The grand celebration reflected the Odisha Government’s commitment to inclusive development, effective implementation of welfare schemes, and ensuring that the benefits of governance reach every section of society.
