Nabarangpur-Paralakhemundi to Get New OSRTC AC Night Express Bus Service, Offering Convenient Overnight Travel for Passengers

Bhubaneswar,  Sept 28 [UDN}:The Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) is set to introduce a new 2/2 air-conditioned (AC) Night Express bus service between Nabarangpur and Paralakhemundi, bringing back a long-discontinued public transport connection between the two important towns. The service is expected to begin shortly after the arrival of the new bus.
The route had remained non-operational for more than 10 years. Following sustained efforts by the Jeypore Zone authorities, along with repeated public representations and grievance hearings seeking restoration of the service, the necessary permit has now been approved. Once the new bus reaches the designated depot, the service will operate regularly in both directions via Damanjodi, according to the proposed schedule.
Under the new timetable, the bus will depart from Nabarangpur every day at 7:30 PM. It will travel through Borigumma and reach Jeypore at around 8:37 PM, followed by Koraput at 9:25 PM. Continuing through Sunabeda and Semiliguda, the bus is scheduled to reach Damanjodi at 10:35 PM and depart from there at 11:05 PM.
The night service will then proceed through Kakirigumma and Laxmipur, crossing the Rayagada Terminal at around 1:45 AM. From there, it will pass through JK Pur, Ramnaguda, Gumuda, Damsara, Gunupur and Kashinagar, before completing the onward journey and reaching Paralakhemundi at approximately 6:05 AM the following morning.
Return Journey
On the return journey, the bus will leave the Paralakhemundi bus stand at 8:05 PM. It is scheduled to reach Gunupur at 10:05 PM and leave Rayagada at around 12:25 AM. The bus will subsequently travel through Kakirigumma and Damanjodi, before reaching Koraput at 4:33 AM.
It will then proceed to Jeypore Government New Bus Stand, where it is scheduled to arrive at around 5:13 AM. The bus will continue through Borigumma and finally reach Nabarangpur at approximately 6:33 AM.
The restoration of this route is expected to provide an important overnight transport option for passengers travelling between Nabarangpur, Borigumma, Jeypore, Koraput, Sunabeda, Semiliguda, Damanjodi, Laxmipur, Rayagada, Gunupur and Paralakhemundi. The AC Night Express service could particularly benefit passengers requiring convenient long-distance travel during the night and strengthen inter-district connectivity across southern Odisha.
