Nabarangpur’s Medana Celebrates 54th World Environment Day with Community Participation

Nabarangpur, June 6:  The 54th World Environment Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Medana headquarters under Medana Panchayat in Dabugaon Block of Nabarangpur district.

On this occasion, a plantation drive was organized at the Medana Panchayat Office, Lanjiguda Primary School, and the Forest Guard Office premises through the joint initiative of the Medana Sarpanch and the Forest Department.

During the programme, a total of 100 saplings of various species, including amla, papaya, custard apple, guava, mango, and jackfruit, were planted. Emphasizing environmental protection and the creation of a greener environment, people were urged to plant more and more trees.

Among those present at the event were Sarpanch Sumitra Majhi, former Sarpanch Hiranya Majhi, Ward Member Madhu Kalar, Panchayat Executive Officer A.D. Prasad, Gram Rozgar Sevika Swapna Sagaria, Supply Assistant Khagapati Meher, Forest Guard Tanuj Kumar Parichha, Forest Watchers Bhagyalaxmi Mallik, Ananta Kumar Jhankar, Raju Mandal, along with Para Forestry staff members.
