Kotpad,Aug 10 [UDN}:The newly constructed building of the Kotpad Community Health Centre (CHC) was inaugurated by MLA Rupu Bhatra. For many years, the Kotpad CHC had been functioning from the Mother and Child Care Centre due to the lack of a dedicated facility. After nearly two years of construction work, the new CHC building has been completed at an estimated cost of ₹7.79 crore.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Koraput CDMO Dr. Gurupasad Mohanty, CHC Medical Officer Dr. Biswajit Mallik, Senior Pharmacist Suryanarayan Padhi, NAC Chairman Shankar Rao, Block Vice-Chairman Tapan Panigrahi, MP representative Pradip Rath, in-charge Tehsildar Parshuram Bhatra, in-charge IIC Diptimayee Dharua, Rameswar Jena, Press Club President Pankaj Kumar Patra, BJP leader Kishore Chandra Mishra, Durga Sahu, Biswatripathi, Ajay Mishra, Harish Patnaik, along with doctors, staff nurses, and health department employees.
With the number of patients visiting Kotpad CHC increasing steadily, officials and local representatives urged the CDMO to fill vacant specialist posts, including those of a gynaecologist, paediatrician, and medicine specialist, to ensure better healthcare services for the people of the region.
