Bhubaneswar, Aug 18 [UDN}: Farmers residing abroad will also be able to complete their registration.
Like an Aadhaar card, farmers will receive a Farmer Identity Card.
The government will reach out to farmers to facilitate the creation of their AgriStack ID.
AgriStack IDs will be generated through cooperative institutions.
If a farmer is unable to visit the cooperative institution, officials will visit the farmer to complete the registration process.
Once the ID is generated, the farmer will receive an identity card.
The card will contain important information related to the farmer, including details of loans, seeds, fertilizers and other agricultural services.
Officials from the Agriculture, Revenue and Cooperation departments will assist farmers with the registration process.
If necessary, the deadline for farmer registration will be extended.
Farmers living abroad will also be able to complete registration and eye scanning/biometric verification.
Farmers will be able to sell their paddy this year even without an AgriStack ID.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari provided this information.
