New Doppler Radar Station to Be Inaugurated in Sambalpur, Boosting Weather Forecasting and Early Warning Systems

Sambalpur Sept 24   [UDN}:, A,  new Doppler Weather Radar Station will be inaugurated today at Madhupur near Yamadarpali Road in Sambalpur, Odisha.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will attend the programme as the chief guest and formally inaugurate the new weather radar station. The facility is expected to strengthen the region’s weather monitoring and forecasting capabilities, particularly by providing more timely information on heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and other severe weather conditions.

Following the inauguration, Chief Minister Majhi will attend a public meeting at the Gangadhar Meher University auditorium, where he is scheduled to address the gathering.

The installation of the Doppler weather radar is significant for strengthening Odisha’s disaster preparedness and early-warning systems, especially during the monsoon and periods of severe weather.
